Spotlight

Supplier: Unibap

Supply chain update:

Unibap is planning two major product launches in 2025, one in hardware and one in software. Find out more below:

The hardware

Unibap is set to release a new version of the iX10 platform called the iX10-102.

It will carry one of the most powerful Visual Processing Units ever sent to space – the Hailo-8.

With it, the iX10’s AI acceleration abilities will increase by a factor of 50.

As Benita Gornicka, Space Missions and Applications Manager at Unibap, explains

“Unibap iX10-102 constitutes a major leap for on-orbit intelligence by bringing Earth’s most powerful edge-AI accelerator technology to space.”

The software

The new software product is called Unibap Loom and is a pre-processing pipeline for hyperspectral imagery.

It can turn raw hyperspectral data into calibrated, filtered and orthorectified images in real time, producing a constant flow of refined information ready for inference or downlink.

As Benita explains;

“Unibap Loom is the pioneer of a new line of Unibap products called Functions that, together with our OS, will make AI in space easier than ever before.”
