Supply chain update:
CAVU is working closely with Microchip Technology Inc. and has early access to FPGAs that will be commercially-available by 2025/6. CAVU has designed 2 OBCs based on those FPGAs:
(1) The Tartan Light OBC – an edge computer combining AI-intensive processing and flash-based FPGA technology for advanced CubeSat applications.
What makes it important?
This OBC combines AI-driven capabilities with high-reliability hardware, critical for autonomous operations in space.
What makes it unique?
It uses an AI-intensive processor in conjunction with a flash-based FPGA System-on-Chip (SoC), meeting the demanding needs of CubeSats and small form factor systems.
As Ali Maani, Chief Technology Officer at CAVU, explains:

(2) NANO-S – a compact CubeSat TTC module operating in the S-band. Featuring a Software-Defined Radio (SDR) architecture. It enables dynamic RF parameter changes, adaptive coding, and modulation, and delivers high data rates with a small footprint, offering flexibility for evolving mission needs.
What makes it important?
It provides efficient, reliable S-band communication for CubeSats, supporting high data rates and robust telemetry/telecommand operations.
What makes it unique?
The NANO-S stands out with its SDR-based adaptability, allowing real-time changes in communication settings. Its compact design reduces antenna size while maximizing performance, making it perfect for space-constrained missions.
